A day trip to Edinburgh

October 27, 2015

So today we decided to have a little day trip to Edinburgh, as it is only 40 mins train journey from Berwick (which is 15 mins from our cottage in Northumberland), and to be honest I was feeling the need for a little retail therapy…..  There are some lovely shops in Edinburgh and I managed to get lot’s of ideas for Christmas gifts (which included one for me!)

I_221451585_02_20150930First we headed to Jenners, which is positioned on Princes Street where it has been since 1838.  It is known as the Harrods of the North.  The store itself is a delight with the original wooden grand hall, and I managed to find a lovely Pied a Terre faux fur coat that I would love for the winter months, hopefully noted by Mr A…..

We visited AnthropologieIMG_2753which had some gorgeous monogrammed items, these included necklaces and mugs which would make lovely Christmas gifts.  Lily was coveting the monogrammed pouch, and the fact that the ‘L’ pouch had a pink back pleased her a lot!  Also there were some lovely mugs with inspirational quotes to get you motivated in the morning with your morning coffee…..

They also had some beautiful books with cocktail ideas and barware including sleigh bell stirrers and wine stoppers and a gold pretzel bottle opener – all of which will make lovely Christmas gifts for my friends.

Then we headed to the Chocolate Lounge for a cheeky glass of bubbles, pink for me, regular for Mr A and an After Eight Chocolate Smoothie for Lily.  OJ had to settle for his babycino!

Then off to the train station to head back to Berwick, had a lovely day!
